Hi,
Was hoping someone could shed light on some connectivity and security considerations when connecting Power BI to Jira (On-Premise).
We have on-premise Jira system, from which we want to push data to PBI through an on-premise gateway:
Questions we have:
Power BI GW:
1. What connectivity is needed to the Power BI cloud? Which ports and protocols will are used?
2. How is the Authentication done? Which user is authenticating the connection to Jira? Where are the credentials kept and how are they protected? How Do you limit/protect the access to the cloud?
3. Where and how credentials to Data sources kept and how are they protected?
4. What level of access is needed (and who initiates the access) when using Jira or other sources?
5. Is there a way to "push" information to the GW?
6. What audit capabilities are available on the GW? (Administration, Authentication, ETC ...)
Power BI cloud:
1. Where is the information coming from the GW stored? what services are part of this process?
2. Is there an encryption option with REST?
3. Where and how we can configure who has access to the information and how do we identify/protect from external access permissions?
4. Is there a way to alert/notify of permission changes?
I know that's a lot to answer. Unfortunately have not been able to receive answers from MS for a few weeks now.,.
If there is anyone who can provide information, we can also continue the discussion in private.
happy Holidays!
