Im using a live connection in my report to an on-prem SSAS tabular.
When i update the cube and hit refresh on the report in the dashboard i get the updated values, but if I then click around in the dashboard and come back to it, i see the old number again.
Sometimes this works just fine, and a refresh of the report stays put after browsing around, and sometimes its like this. Im wonder if it might be a cache issue?
UPDATE: Come back from a 15 minute break and updated the number, this time it stuck.

Real-time dashboards
Real-time dashboards use the Microsoft Power BI REST API, or Microsoft Stream Analytics, to make sure the data is up-to-date. Since real time dashboards do not require users to configure refresh, they are outside the scope of this article.
