Hello everyone,
I've built a report in Power BI desktop with Amazon Redshift as its datasource. The report was built using a test database/cluster in Redshift and now that the report is complete, I would like to switch to the 'live' database/cluster. However, I could not find the option to configure that in Power BI desktop.
Could someone explain to me if it is possible to switch between Redshift datasource and if so, how?

Can a power BI report be integrated with secure external website using Pro license. This report will be used only by Power BI licensed user and user will login to external site using O365 ID which will also be used for Power BI.

I have a table from my SQL server database in my report and I want to edit the data such like as editable grids in dynamics 365.
So that I can edit my data in the same field not in edit form.
Data change should also be reflected in my database table

I've got an issue with Xero data.
Specifically, all data, except invoicelineitem is importing fine.
invoicelineitem data only imports for data in 2018, nothing prior.
Invoices exist in 2017, and I can use any data that isn't in the invoicelineitem table just fine. Any ideas why this field is limited to current year for import?

I've been having trouble connecting to PostgreSQL using the On-Premise Enterprise Gateway without ODBC. On the same machine as the gateway, I have installed Power BI and connected to the PostgreSQL database without any issues (thanks to the instructions here:https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Integrations-with-Files-and/Connecting-to-PostgresSQL-hosted-on-AWS-RDS/m-p/136301#M8605), but when setting up a new data source for the gateway I encounter the following error:

Has anyone else successfully connected an On-Premise Enterprise Gateway to a PostgreSQL source without ODBC? Any suggestions for overcoming this error would be very welcome!
We have been succesfully connecting with the Power BI Desktop to a SQLite database via a SQLite ODBC driver being locally installed on the workstation along with a System DSN defined pointing to a network share.
Now we're trying to leverage the on-prem gateway to auto-refresh the report data online with no luck. The error message in the gateway management online states...
"Scheduled refresh has been disabled due to at least one data source not having credentials provided. Please provide credentials for all data sources, and then turn scheduled refresh back on."
Is this failing because the SQLite ODBC connections don't require credentials to connect? Is there a way to fool it?
Further digging into the on-premise gateway diagnostic logs produced the following warning...
"[DataMovement.PipeLine.MashupCommon] Connection string <pi>DSR=encryptedconnectionstring</pi> is not a valid M connection string"
Is this related to the missing credentials?
Any thoughts?
There are a couple of posts out there that demonstrate accessing the Microsoft Graph data from the OData feed in PowerBI such as Pathy's blog Access Microsoft Graph using power bi. All the posts on the subject demonstrate accessing users in the organisation which I have all successfully tested on my own Office 365 tenant logging in with my organisational account.
Has anyone been able to access the Microsoft Graph from Power BI for their own calendar entries or email using the same approach (e.g. https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/events?$select=subject,body,bodyPreview,organizer,attendees,start,end,location). When I try I get this message.
If accessing O365 users works signing in with an organisational account, I find it strange that accessing calendar entries does not, particularly as they are my calendar entries and I am admin of my O365 organisation.
There is a lot of great information available in the Microsoft graph. I would be grateful for any guidance on accessing Microsoft Graph from PowerBI (not just accessing users).
I have gone into the Office Graph and registered an app, got a keys etc, but it isn't clear where these keys shuld go, and I have read that Power BI does support OAuth 2 authentiication. Also, I want to use the Microsoft graph api because I want the recurring appointments expanded, which the native Exchange apis provided in Power BI do not do.
I am hoping that there is a straightforward solution to accessing this information. I look foward to any guidance you might have.

I'm using the Google Analytics connector for a few data sources, and noticed my data is getting sampled. That's not neccesarily a problem (although if anyone has ideas on how I can prevent sampling, that would also be welcome!), but it would be nice to be able to know the sample size of the data I'm looking at.
I looked in the Google Analytics API documentation, and it looks like there are response fields, "sampleSpace" and "sampleSize", that tell you the number of samples are in a space, and the number of samples used to calculate sampled data.
Does anyone know how I can get these values from the API using the Google Analytics connector? I'm hoping to add the sample size to the dashboard so I know exactly how much my data is being sampled.

I have an excel work book that is connected directly to a dataource stored in Power BI. the work book works perfect and means that any changes made to the online datasource are also updated in the excel sheet.
My issue is that if i try to minpulate the data while offline i get an error saying that the datasource could not be reached.
I do not wish to update the data only to make changes to the data within a piviot table, such as changeing a filter or close/open a grouping or change the value form a count to a sum.
when connecting to the data directly in the Data base excel can do this as it seems to store all the data that is extracted within the workbook data model.
is there away of connecting to the BI datasource in a similar whay where by the data once refreshed in the workbook is stored within the sheet in an offline version so that the sheet can be used away from my desk. and can then be refreshed once back online.

I have a concern/ question about loads and security of "DirectQuery Connection".
I did not find any topics around this issue. So i ask it here. My questions are:
1- When we have many queries on many tables for BI purposes, is there any risk for throwing loads on server and under effect delivering services from that server?
2- Is there any concern of abusing this connection and be able to edit/ delete or manipulate databases in any way?

Hi, when using the 'Distinct' function to create a new table it should return an unique value based on the column selected. When trying to create a relationship from this new unique value table I am getting the following error: "You can't create a relationship betwenn these two columns because one of the columns must have unique values." I was under the impression creating a 'Distinct' table the values returned must be unique. Also removing blank cells doesn't work if it's a table and not a querry. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?
Hi. I've built a custom data connector to a REST API that uses OAuth. Currently the client_id and client_secrets used by the OAuth authentication are stored in spearate files as per the samples provided by Microsoft here.
Is it possible for the client_id to and client_secret to be provided by the user filling in a paramater prompt during authentication once the connector has been deployed in Power BI, or must these credentials be stored in the connector's mez package?
Hello, I'm building some wonderful reports in Power BI against Salesforce but have hit a roadblock. I am only pulling in three objects at the moment: Contact, Account, and Case. I have the following joins or relationships currently.
One to many from Account / Id to Contact / AccountId
One to many from Account / Id to Case / AccountId
I need to connect Case to Contact but am not sure how to build the relationships properly.
Any advice?

We have a pbix which has multiple tiles on it. These tiles together linked together with month filter.
And the data source is SQL Azure database.
We are fetching the data with 'direct query' option.
This pbix is embedded into .net web application. The data on this embedded pbix(seen on .net homepage of application) is always up to date, we do not need to schedule any refresh.
Now we want to use import instead of direct query.
Could you please help with a direction how to go for it?

My SharePoint site enabled ADFS authentication , we can say Multi Factor Authentication enabled site. the problem now we successfully connected On Premise gateway but when we are trying to add Data Source we are getting the below error message. I was wondering if there is any way to write date back to SFDC. I found this article https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/embedding-a-power-bi-report-into-salesforce/ but I am looking for something more like the way you can use R to write back to a SQL DB.

I'm very new to Power BI, just started yesterday. I've created a basic map which pulls the lattitude and longitude data from an SQL view on my server which shows the locaiton of some service field team members. Everything is fine with the map when I create it and deploy it, however the map does not update with the new locations even when I refresh it. Am I doing anything incorectly? When I go back to the actual report in the desktop software and refresh it, it will show the new locations as per the SQL query but I need the published map to update to show the locations that are in the SQL view that I created.
